Abstract

This research aims to address the issue of user management in the hotspot network at STMIK El Rahma Yogyakarta through the implementation of an External Radius Server using Linux Ubuntu. This research uses the methods of interview, observation and literature review. The results of the interview with the head of STMIK El Rahma and the campus network technician showed that the higher education institution needs centralized and efficient user management to optimize the performance of the Mikrotik routerboard. The implementation of the External Radius Server using Ubuntu is expected to facilitate user management and create a stable campus internet network. This research helps to ease the management of the internet network and provides a solution for other higher education institutions with similar problems. With the implementation of the External Radius Server using Linux Ubuntu, user management on the STMIK El Rahma hotspot network will become more centralized and easier to manage.
