Abstract

The development of technology is currently growing very rapidly, and can be felt in the industrial world and society. One of them by utilizing existing technology, such as the manufacture of smart homes (Smart Home). Currently, many electronic devices work in an integrated manner with computer systems. This of course will greatly assist human work in operating electronic devices and door lock controllers. The purpose of this SmartHome research is to control electronic devices, temperature security facilities or lighting into a single system that aims to use electricity effectively and efficiently in a room. This study will design a Smart Home system model that works in a controlled manner based on IoT (Internet of Things) using a microcontroller and using the Prototype Method. The SmartHome Prototype System is built and can be controlled remotely using the Telegram App. It can be concluded that this SmartHome can control household appliances such as lights, fans, doors and door locks by giving orders or receiving automatic notifications via the Telegram application and connected by the Esp32 microcontroller, in order to reduce the use of wasted electrical power when the user forgets to turn off the SmartHome device.
