Abstract

Indonesia is a country located in the Pacific Ring of Fire. Indonesia has the area with the most active volcanoes in the world, namely 129 units spread from the islands of Sumatra, Java, Bali, Sulawesi, to Papua. Volcanic activity resulting from this volcanic process causes several gases to be produced. Toxic gases produced by volcanic activity from within the earth are of various kinds, some of these toxic gases include carbon monoxide (CO) gas and carbon dioxide gas (CO2). . The effects of this gas can be fatal if inhaled in high doses and can cause death gradually even within minutes. From the problem above, a tool must be made to detect the gas content of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide. So it was made with Arduino Uno as a microcontroller, ESP 8266 as a wifi module to connect to a webserver, MQ-7 as a carbon monoxide sensor, MQ-135 as a carbon monoxide sensor, DHT-11 as a temperature and humidity sensor, after the sensor received input the carbon monoxide content and carbon dioxide will be forwarded to the Arduino Uno to be displayed on the LCD and then it will be connected to a webserver so that people can access via cellphones anywhere and anytime. With this tool, it becomes an early warning for the surrounding community who have routine activities around the volcano to get information about the levels of toxic content in the air around where they are active as a result of the volcanic activity of the volcano. Kata kunci: Arduino Uno, Internet of Thing, Karbon Monoksida (CO), Karbon Dioksida
