Abstract

The internet of things in today's modern era is starting to be widely used in various fields, making almost all electronic devices connected and able to communicate via the internet. Along with these developments, the use of IoT in the field of fish farming has also been developed. Replacing aquarium water is an activity that is often carried out by fish owners, especially ornamental fish. Until now, the replacement of aquarium water is often not noticed, the busyness of ornamental fish owners in their daily lives often makes them forget about the condition of the water in their aquarium. Meanwhile, replacing aquarium water is an activity that needs attention, because fish need a clean environment with sufficient water to fulfill their lives. To overcome this in this study, an automatic aquarium water replacement system was designed that is connected to the internet with monitoring tools that can be monitored via Blynk, so that users can monitor the turbidity level of water in aquariums anywhere and anytime. This system is designed using NodeMCU as the system control center, ultrasonic sensors, LDR, mini submersible water pump, relay. The ultrasonic sensor is used to measure the water level in the aquarium, while the LDR sensor measures the turbidity of the water based on the intensity of light entering the sensor. In cloudy aquarium water conditions the water replacement pump will turn on and when clear water conditions the pump does not turn on. The result is that this system can help ornamental fish owners monitor the turbidity of the water in the aquarium and help replace water, schedule changes can be arranged, and can be monitored via Blynk anywhere and anytime. Keywords — Arduino, ESP8266, Blynk, IOT, Microcontroller, Aquarium.
